Five Dock

Working under strict DA conditions in close conjunction with the landscape architect Svalbe & Co, the brief required a complete transformation and reconstruction of the main road frontage, heritage styled boundary wall and enclosed courtyard and gardens. Tightly constrained by preservation of character conditions, tree management plan, council infrastructure, pedestrian and traffic management, densely packed services, main road opening and onerous controls for working on well trafficked council property provided a unique set of strict working parameters and rigorous certification.

The result is a glorious Spanish/art deco influenced front courtyard and garden protected from a busy main road by a period style curved brick wall featuring beautiful hardwood timber infill and front gate. Pebble gardens, bluestone steppers, steps, handrails, lighting, irrigation and an exotic planting mix creates a unique contemporary Mediterranean feel. Needless to say the client was utterly delighted.

The crew at Greenstone gave our front garden an incredible facelift under all the trying circumstances you can imagine when working on an old house, built before solid building codes were in place. Unconnected waste-water drainage, gas and water connections embedded where they shouldn’t be and more. They went the extra mile to deal with our local Council as they addressed these issues, persisting with patience and fortitude.
We are so happy with the result!
