BIRCHGROVE
An esteemed heritage suburb location and a semi detached residence with a backdrop of the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Birchgrove Oval provides the ideal canvas for a complete pool and yard restoration project. Work commenced with stripping the site of all old paving, pool coping, fencing and pebblecrete, back to the original concrete shell. Rock outcrops needed paring back and new power, lighting and sewer lines were installed. The pool shell required extensive patching, repair and customisation including new piping, swim jets, lighting, pumps and filtration systems while maintaining the existing pool curve profile.
Fresh render, waterproofing then Everglade glass mosaic tile to the pool interior and Garonne tumbled coping customised to the sleek curves, is finished with seamless integration to the Garonne exterior pool edge for a modern, clean aesthetic. New paving required re-leveling the whole area and a fresh reinforced concrete base ready for installation of Endicott bush hammered pavers, providing a natural hand chipped finish to the whole surrounds. Frameless glass pool fencing, Millboard decking and an integrated sandstone bench seat, formed into the existing rock and brick setting, topped off the picture for both relaxation and peace of mind.
At last Kelly and Nick have the ultimate outdoor living room transformation from which to enjoy the many delights of harbourside city life ……
in the comfort of their own secluded and homely sanctuary paradise.
A point to note is that such inner city sites present unique constraints such as limited
parking, busy narrow street frontage and tight access along the side of the house.
The challenge involves moving materials, machinery and waste to and from the rear
of the site without causing congestion, damage or concern for neighbours.
All in a days work for Greenstone where we are comfortable with all manner of
challenging site, access and street complexities.
